CONNECTING WITH KIDS

"Children enthusiastically joined in when Jim 'n I performed at the public library. Their gentle touch with children and beautiful harmonies inspired even the shyest children to want to sing along and follow the actions of the songs. It was also an interesting variety of styles and musical instruments that they exposed the children to and the duo's ability to relate the songs to our local environment and to the children's experiences made the concert especially meaningful. "We have just spent an hour under the musical spell of Jim and Sherry.   What a precious moment in time this has been for us.  It can be  compared to visiting with a rainbow - full of colour, wonder and  magic.  Jim and Sherry quickly created a very comfortable and relaxed  atmosphere.  The children were given a very clear message that this  was their concert.  They were invited to participate in it, every inch  of the way, and this they did.  The children sang, danced, played in a  band, and had a down-to-earth, fun and happy time.  Sherry and Jim  used responses from our children as springboards, leading into other  songs.  And so the concert just flowed along.  The time to say  good-bye had come much too soon.  It was clear to see that this had  been one very special concert.  Jim and Sherry, you are to be  commended for your gift of music, your warmth and sensitivity, your  ability to create fun and laughter, and your spirit of kindness.  This  time with you was truly a gift.  Thank you from all of us"
